Irrigation coverage is important for a healthy lawn. Head to head coverage with even distribution to solve brown lawn patches was the concern in this Winter Park, Florida rotor reconfiguration project. The customer had a problem with solving brown patches in the lawn due to the need for proper water distribution. Once again, we were more than happy to oblige.
We removed all of the rotors and installed Hunter MP rotator nozzles onto Rain Bird 1800 series spray bodies. The MP rotators require less water to operate allowing us to install more rotators in a single zone. To assure that proper operating pressure was maintained, an additional zone was installed.
The landscape shrubs and plants are now more healthy because we were able to ensure the new configuration did not mix watering both turf and plant material on the same zone. The turf and plant materials have different watering requirements requiring zones specially designed for each section.
The result is even distribution and correct coverage for this customer’s front yard turf area. This customer doesn’t have to worry about dry spots in the lawn that would eventually lead to brown patches.
