Locating Existing Irrigation Valves

In many cases, irrigation valves can be located in the most unusual and difficult to find places. Knowing exactly where irrigation valves are located is important for troubleshooting our customer’s irrigation problems here in the Orlando, Florida area.

Over a period of time, the location of irrigation valves could quite possibly be forgotten. Perhaps a new owner just purchased the home. Over the years, a structure such as a shed, deck, screen room or patio may be built on top of the irrigation valves that control the sprinkler system. Florida is infamous for a climate that allows vegetation to easily become overgrown, too.

This photo shows a hard to access spot for these irrigation valves to be located. In this instance, the valves were under a wooden deck. Before asking the homeowner if we could remove it, we had to be sure that we definitely found the valve. Chances are the system installer may not have left a diagram of the sprinkler system. In this mysterious detective case we use the Greenlee 521A Underground Fault and Valve Locator.
