These irrigation related photos are from a job on an Orlando area property where the owner recently had a screen room installed. The irrigation system needed to be completely refurbished for proper coverage, so adjustments had to be made.
The thick clay-type soil in the area has a consistency that needs a lower saturation rate to allow better percolation and reduce surface pooling. Percolation is the slow passage of a liquid through a filtering medium, in this case, soil. In order to compensate for the slower application of water, zone run times are made more frequent.
The problem irrigation system coverage was provided by rotor heads. To solve the problem of irrigation in clay based soil we completely redesigned the remaining zone. All of the rotors were removed and 13 Rain Bird 1806 sprayers with rotary nozzles were installed with matched and lower precipitation rates.
