Protecting your lawn using professional methods is standard practice when doing excavation for sprinkler system repair or installation. We look ahead and take precautions for job site cleanup to save time, money and many unwanted headaches.
The photos to the left show preventative measures we used on a residential irrigation system installation to help with the clean up afterwards. While digging this drainage trench, we placed the dirt on a tarp we layed out across the lawn.
This covering on the lawn prevented the dirt from settling into the grass, and allowed any clumps of grass to remain intact. Once the work underground was complete we were able to cleanly fill the dirt back into the hole by simply lifting the edges of the tarp.
Preparation is the key to a smoothly running job. Organized field work saves time with on site irrigation and allows for efficient job strategy. We find that when plans are previously developed on irrigation and drainage projects, being a step ahead at all times yields smooth sailing.
Sidenote: Depending on the situation, we may or may not use this method on some irrigation system and drainage excavation projects.
